You may not be a big tipper on your daily life, or you treat waiters badly, but when it comes to casinos being a big tipper is beneficial. I still can’t understand people with tip calculator installed on their PDA; they are simply being too obnoxious about tipping. Giving away tips to let’s say waiters is a universal way of saying “thank you, you have done a fabulous job”. It is not so much about the money, but the amount of appreciation you are giving to people helping you.
In casinos, the most common practice of tipping is tipping dealers after a game. This will surely get you noticed and they will treat you even nicer. I was in a casino the other day and I was having one of those bad days where you just can’t seem to win. I’m down to my last $500 chip and decided not to play with it. Instead, I tossed the chip to the dealer, smiled, thank him for a lovely evening, and walk away; I was just trying to be courteous. There’s nothing special to it; the guy was keeping me company the whole time and we had nice conversations, so I thank him for that. I had just found a seat at the bar and ordered a drink when one of the hotel’s managers came up to me and offered me a nice dinner and unlimited beverages of any kind, compliment of the management. It occurred to me that he management is just trying to cheer me up; I calculated around $5000 loss that night and the fact that the actual worth of the compliment they are giving me I more than $5000 makes that deduction very unlikely to be correct. Then he mentioned about the dealer giving good feedback about me, and I know that being courteous in casinos do have beneficial rewards. The compliment lasted for the rest of my stay, and I had the best times of my life.
